Mike Bouchard - Managing Partner

Mike brings to Appalachian Capital Partners 3 decades of Investment Banking Experience
He spent the first half of his career with top tier Investment Banks serving mid-cap and large-cap clients in capital markets transactions and M&A
Over the last 15 years, Mike has been a partner with "Boutique" Investment Banks with a focus on small-cap and mid-cap entrepreneurial businesses in the Consumer, Food and Retail sectors
Throughout his career Mike has earned the respect of his clients for his strategic advice, direct approach and outstanding dedication to achieving success
Mike has held senior roles with CIBC World Markets, TD Securities and RBC Capital Markets
Mike holds a law degree (LL,B) from Université de Montréal and an MBA from Ivey Business School (Western University)

Bernard Prevost - Partner

Bernard has recently helped Canadian online pharmacy Medzy.ca with its Series A capital raise and has successfully completed the merger of Xpedigo technologies with Tecor Transport, a last mile delivery service.
Bernard is the former Co-founder and CFO of Missfresh.com, a Canadian online meal subscription service that was sold in 2017 to Metro.
Prior to Missfresh.com, Bernard held several senior positions in public e-commerce and tech companies, such as CFO APAC at Liveramp and Regional CFO at Groupon. Bernard also worked for Deloitte Canada in audit and advisory for technology companies.
Bernard’s first career was in software development as a front/back end software developer for Bell Canada Enterprises.
Bernard is a Canadian CPA and also holds his CPA from the state of Illinois, USA. He is a member of the Quebec CPA order and the American CPA Institute.
Bernard graduated from John Molson School of Business with a degree in finance and accounting, from Montreal University in law and from Champlain College in Computer Science.

Jason Dacosta - Senior Associate

Jason has worked with multiple start-ups as interim CFO to help them secure venture funding
Prior to working with start-ups, Jason worked at Novacap, a private equity fund with over $2.3 billion under management, playing a key role in several middle market buyout transactions in the tech sector, notably in the managed services, telecom and payment processing industries
Prior to Novacap, Jason also worked at 747 Capital, a New York based private equity fund and Mango Fund, an impact investment fund focused on making equity and debt investments throughout Eastern Africa
Jason graduated from McGill University with a degree in finance and accounting
